Athletes’ boats are stored in halls and on metal racks. Upon arrival, athletes need to be informed about where each boat should be stored. As a volunteer, you handle various spontaneous tasks and help coordinate departure after the competitions.

A large number of athletes will arrive at Düsseldorf Airport. You travel with a driver to the airport to greet arrivals and direct them to their bus.

We provide bicycles for coaches to borrow, enabling them to accompany and support their athletes along the regatta course. As a volunteer, you hand out bicycles to coaches and collect them after use.

The info desk is the central point for athletes and coaches to get information on all topics. As a volunteer, you answer questions, provide helpful materials, and refer people to other contacts if necessary.

We provide shuttle buses to take athletes and coaches to the regatta venue and hotels in central Duisburg. As a volunteer, you provide orientation regarding shuttle lines and boarding/exit points at the hotels, and answer related questions.

On 22.07.2026, the 2026 World Rowing Under 23 Championships will be officially opened. As a volunteer, you might supervise minor volunteers, assist artists, carry a flag, or perform other tasks.

The Finals A of the 2026 World Rowing Under 23 Championships take place on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Athletes are honored immediately after each race. As a volunteer, you might carry medals or hoist national flags. Rehearsals for the award ceremony will take place on Friday and another day.

To allow athletes to train worry-free, we offer a bag storage. As a volunteer, you receive and supervise bags until athletes retrieve them. Additionally, you check the ergometer area to ensure it is tidy and clean.

During the competitions, the grandstand as well as the area in front is opened for spectators. As a volunteer, together with security staff, you check tickets and ensure everything runs smoothly on the stands.

Tickets for spectators will be sold on site. As a volunteer, you sell tickets and answer questions from spectators and passers-by.

At the start, the boats need to be aligned correctly. Children and young people hold the boats in place during the start. As a volunteer, you supervise them. Additionally, the start system must be adjusted according to boat size, which you help with.

During the regatta, VIPs such as politicians or sponsors are expected. As a volunteer, you support them and keep the premises tidy.

When athletes compete, we need to measure how fast they rowed. As a volunteer, you help record these times.

Various equipment must be distributed and set up at the regatta course for timekeeping. After the competitions, everything needs to be dismantled and collected.

For timekeeping, GPS modules are attached to the rowing boats. Each boat also receives a bow number for identification. As a volunteer, you attach GPS modules and bow numbers and collect them after the races.
